NHL Rumors IV: Bruins had a deal, DeKeyser, St. Louis, Malone, Miller, and Blues

From twitter unless noted otherwise

  • Darren Dreger: Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said that he was told at noon yesterday that they had a deal for Jarome Iginla. It is now clear that Iginla must have directed the Flames towards the Penguins. Boston Bruins: Chiarelli: “we brought up Torey, scratched Koko and Bart – relied on the fact that we had the deal”
  • Joe Haggerty: Iginla was calling the shots and wanted to end up in Pittsburgh. Flames took the lesser offer.
  • Darren Dreger: Some think that Iginla’s decision to play for the Penguins was made before last night.
  • Elliotte Friedman: Flames GM Jay Feaster is off to Toronto to make pitch for Danny DeKeyser.
  • Patrick Caisse: Danny DeKeyser’s agent, Don Meehan, told Caisse that he’ll likely have a decision today, tomorrow at the latest.
  • The Fourth Period: Multiple sources are saying that the Lightning are getting calls on Martin St. Louis. He has two years left at a $5.625 million salary cap hit. He has a no-movement clause. The Bruins, Red Wings and Rangers are believed to have shown interest. The Lightning could also be getting calls on Ryan Malone.
  • Andy Strickland: Sabres Ryan Miller handed in a list of 8 teams he won’t accept a trade too before the season started.
  • Andy Strickland: Strickland would be surprised if the Blues moved any roster players at the deadline. Draft picks and prospects most likely.
