Injury Notes: Smith, Michalek, Hossa, Stastny, Wilson, Salvador and Gionta
  • Jerry Brown NHL.com: Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith hasn’t been on the ice since being hit by Alex Edler last Thursday. Defenseman Zbynek Michalek is getting closer to returning. He’s been out since March 9th.
  • Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune: Blackhawks Marian Hossastill isn’t able to get back into the lineup. He’s “probably doubtful” for Tuesday according to coach Joel Quenneville. He’s recovering from an upper-body injury.

“Hopefully by the weekend (Hossa) will be playing,” Quenneville said. “Hossa hasn’t been on the ice the last couple of days but he’s progressing.”

  • Adrian Dater of the Denver Post: The Avalanche have lost Paul Stastny to an injured left foot after blocking a shot. Ryan Wilson re-injured his ankle again and could be done for the year. Dater via Sulia: Stastny’s out about 10 days and Wilson is out indefinitely.
  • Tom Gulitti: The Devils lost Bryce Salvador (lower-body) and Stephen Gionta (upper-body) to injuries last night.
