Leafs trade Deschamps to Capitals for Marshall … Capitals acquire Genoway from Wild

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded center Nicolas Deschamps to the Washington Capitals for defenseman Kevin Marshall.

Deschamps was drafted by the Ducks, 35th overall in the 2nd round of the 2008 draft. He was acquired by the Leafs for Luca Caputi.

Marshall was drafted by the Flyers, 41st overall in the 2nd round of the 2007 draft. He was acquired by the Capitals for Matt Ford.

Corey Pronman via twitter: “#Leafs Marshall is a decent def dman with low upside. #Caps Deschamps is a talented player who just can never put a good season together.”
