Oilers Taylor Hall has a disciplinary hearing this afternoon

8:10 AM:

  • Michael Russo via twitter: Oilers Taylor Hall has a disciplinary hearing this afternoon for his hit on Wild’s Cal Clutterbuck.
  • Jason Gregor via twitter: Gregor spoke to someone around Wild dressing room last night. Early thought was a bad charleyhorse.
  • Edmonton Oilers via twitter: ”The referee saw a five-minute major, and we hope it stays at that. I didn’t see any uncharacteristic movement.” – Coach K on Hall

It’s safe to say that Hall will be getting suspended, but the question now becomes, how many games does he get?

ive seen a few oilers games this year… they seem so undisciplined in all areas of play.. they are overly flashy to their detriment… nuge seems like he isnt that interested in hockey at times…at what point does this team get competitive? if they are going to have a small forwards corps, then they really gotta upgrade and gut their d in the next year… keep the schultzs+fistric… trade/part w/ as much as the rest as u can… it seems like they are headed towards another top 10 pick this year.. if not a top 5… maybe its time they land a big ticket playr like yandle..

I agree with most of that hotwings, the Oilers just seem like a slightly more expensive version of the Islanders. There’s clearly a lack of leadership here and that’s quite unfortunate. I wouldn’t go and trade away everything, but I’d certainly jump at the opportunity to move some of those young guys this summer, for a big name veteran d-man that could actually lead this team. The last guy they had that was capable of that got them to the finals (Pronger).

I strongly disagree. Although they do need improvement, they are on the right track. A huge minute eating D-man would make all the difference in the world. Their offense is exceptional and their goaltender is all he has to be for the team to win. They are one of the few teams in the league that can always come back in the third no matter how many goals they’re down. They just need to quit putting themselves in that position to begin with.

basically u are agreeing…. we both recognize they need someone like a yandle.. and we are also agreeing that their d is suspect and needs improvement.. lol??

look at the oil’s goals for… 37 GF… one of the lowest in the league, and only 1 higher than the league low….. the offence is exceptional on paper only… in reality, its a different story….

and if you are one of the league’s lowest scoring teams, you cant be regarded as a team that can come back at will and storm back for 3rd period wins no matter what the goal deficit. how many times has that happened this year? once… twice?

id also say that their forward corps need a bit of shakeup.. you got ryan smyth, supposedly mr oil… and u bench him.. where is the accountability? if your vet who is supposedly mr oiler gets benched, then it seems they are up shit creek without a paddle home…

anyways, i think they need to make some moves… you cant keep burning years like this w/ all the talent.. maybe they got the wrong coach (again)…
