  • Ottawa Senators via twitter: Senators Erik Karlsson suffered a laceration to his left Achilles that will require surgery. He’ll be out indefinitely. Bruce Garrioch via twitter: League executives say that Karlsson could be recovering for 4 to 6 months depending on the extent of the injury. John Shannon via twitter: Karlsson will fly to Ottawa to be re-evaluated by Senators doctors before having surgery.

    INTENT!…not to injure but to slewfoot! That SOB has zero right to play in this league, no idea how Shanabad can continue to let players like this play. He obviously tries to apply back pressure to Karlssons leg to upend him GOING INTO THE BOARDS.
    The slew failed and his foot came down, accidentally, on his tendon. Which to me brings up more safety/protective gear questions than anything else.
    Hell with players like Cooke, you’d half expect players to be wearing the inflatable sumo suits to prevent injury!
