Rumors: O’Reilly, Weiss, Subban and Luongo … Videos: Hotstove and Coaches Corner
  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: There has been talk that the Avalanche are calling around to see what they could get for center Ryan O’Reilly. The asking is a young forward and a 2nd round pick. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is calling teams looking for help in multiple positions. The Kings are looking for a blueline help. The Florida Panthers could be for sale again. The Panthers may not have the money to sign Stephen Weiss, and may have to trade him at the deadline. Subban talks have go nowhere, and may end with Subban asking for a trade. Subban wants a 5 year, $27.5 million deal, $5.5 million cap hit. If the Canadiens explore trading him, the Flyers, Red Wings and Rangers and Jets may make a push for him. Sources say that the Jets want to make a splash with an impact player, and they have the assets to do it. Canucks GM Mike Gillis is telling teams he isn’t moving Roberto Luongo until he gets his asking price. The Oilers have the pieces to get Luongo, but he wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause to go there. The Panthers don’t want to do a deal unless the Canucks take money back. Gillis knows that some are facing pressure to win, and a GM might make a move to save his job. Flyers and Capitals may get in the mix.
