  • Josh Yohe via twitter: Looking like Eric Tangradi and Beau Bennett are in competition to be on a line with Evgeni Malkin. Both will be playing with him tomorrow during their scrimmage.
  • Sportscenter via twitter: (via @TSNRyanRishaug) Jordan Eberle will become an assistant captain in Edmonton. Taylor Hall and Nick Schultz will rotate A’s and Shawn Horcoff will remain as captain. Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney lost their A’s.
  • Nick Kypreos via twitter: The new compliance buyout agreement basically only had two players in mind, Redden and Gomez.
  • Greg Wyshynski via twitter: After 584 games, the AHL has ended their hybrid icing experiment. It was ‘positive’ but they want the players to have some consistency between the AHL and NHL.
  • NY Islanders via twitter: The Islanders suspend Josh Bailey and Jesse Joensuu for getting injured while playing overseas. Their suspensions will be lifted when they pass their physicals.
