The Anaheim Ducks have acquired goalie Dan Ellis from the Tampa Bay Lightning for goalie Curtis McElhinney.
Despite Jonas Hiller possibly returning soon from his bouts of vertigo, and with Ray Emery being called up, the Ducks felt they needed to sure up their goaltending situation.
Dan Ellis will make $1.5 million this year and next. McElhinney makes $570,000 this year and will be a UFA at season’s end.
